Domain Registration

Selection, Registration and Management of your Domain Name (s) is an important first step for any new website.

If you plan to have a serious web presence, the first thing to take care of is to Register your web address (domain name). Do not wait! There is a tremendous rush to register domain names that are a good match for specific businesses. It is estimated that between 15,000 and 20,000 domain names are registered every day. that "perfect" name that you want for your website could be taken any minute!

The moral of the story here is to register your domain name(s) before someone else takes it! You do not have to have a website ready to use your new domain names immediately. They can go unused for as long as your have them registered as yours. When your website is ready, your domain names will be ready to use too.

If you are planning an online business presence, then register your domain name(s) immediately - while it is still available!

The proper domain name is an important part of Search Engine Ranking, (so people can find your website). If you possibly can, register your domain name(s) as a ".com" name. Search Engines regard ".com" domains higher than names with other suffixes.

If possible, Register both the ".com" AND ".net" versions of your domain names. This prevents competitors from registering the other version of your domain name! When you have, the second domain, i.e. the ".net" version, can be setup to be "redirected" to the actual website at the ".com" address.

Important! When it comes to Search Engine Ranking, the ".com" domains are considered first when search engines rank web sites competing for top positioning. With this in mind, try to get a .com for yourself if you can.

Valid characters in the domain name: Today you can use up to 63 characters before the .com, .net, .org, etc.

Note that Domain Names can ONLY consist of letters, numbers and hyphens. No other characters, no Underscores, and No Spaces are permitted in a Domain Name.
